First day at school - 5th Grade

Today is first day at School for my 5th Grade. Got new set of school dresses, shoes, school bag and supplied. Mom dropped us at the school. Our class teacher name is Jyoti Madam and she takes our English class. There are 30 students in my class evenly distributed with boys & girls. Happy to note that one of my 4th grade classmate Adi also in the same section F. 

We introduced ourselves and talked about our US summer trip. Some kids went to different places like Rio, Malaysia, Jammu & Kashmir, Mumbai, Vijayawada etc. Interestingly, there are three Rhia's in our class.

Vishnu and SrinIdhi participated in singing patriotic songs. Sang few
songs with fellow community friends. Mom oversee the practice sessions
and helped us to sing in chorus.

Book report - the red badge of courage by Stephen crane

This book is about American civil war, america's bloodiest conflict. Setting of the story is in 1863. War between Union (northern states) and confederate (southern states). Henry Fleming is the main hero of the story. He fights his first battle taking Union side and finally he wins.

I picked up this book from school library and completed reading it on the same day entire 240'Page book.

"music in the day
music in the night
makes me relax all through the night

music in the leaves
music in the wheels
makes me dance on my feet

music makes me move
music makes me groove
will make me shine like a moon

music makes me happy
music makes me a buddy
because of which i have lots of friends

music makes me drool
music keeps me cool
will wake me up when i am low and down

music is my life
music keeps me alive
when i feel i cant survive"

Mom came up with this poem to help me in my homework. This being mom's first poem, she did pretty well. This grabbed the first prize for me in my 4th grade class. Thank you Mom!

Our weekend - anniversary party, temple visit

Sent from my iPhoneWe went to our Shobha jasmine neighbor sanjana's grand parents 50th anniversary party. After that, we visited nanamma' cousin place to see him. Ended the day with newly built venkateswara temple visit in bellandur. We recited vishnu sahasra mama there. Few folks joined with us to recite as well.. It was nice going to temple along with our family..
